What is Outdoor Family?

Outdoor Family is a team of dedicated individuals who have long understood the value and excitement of families experiencing the natural world together. While the definition of family has been expanded the value of adventure travel as a family remains one of the most effective ways of establishing and strengthening bonds. Outdoor Family is focused on providing the most comprehensive collection of resources to provide easy access to family based adventure tourism.

In addition to providing a constantly updated searchable database of worldwide family based adventure programs Outdoor Family has comprehensive resources for educators to allow for more effective integration into standard and innovative curriculum. With the assistance of Outdoor Family's family of activity experts, specialized destination, equipment and other logistical questions can be provided to site visitors.

Who is Outdoor Family?

It is a team of seasoned enthusiastic individuals who are continuously searching and updating all aspects of adventure travel as it relates to the family. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Scott Armstrong is the founder and currently is the Head Instructor at Kwantlen University College's Adventure Tourism Program and author of an adventure series of children's books. As a former high school principal Scott helped pioneer the use of adventure travel in the school system as a way to help students learn in a way that is more natural to them.
