How Do I Reserve and Book My Trip?
Reserving and booking your trip on Outdoor Family is easy, convenient and fast.
Here's how you do it:
Reserve By Contacting Us

happy to reserve your trip for you. We will be able to tell you about
trip availability, prices and dates and answer any other questions you might have.
Or
Place Your Deposit
We require a deposit in order to reserve a trip. Once the deposit is
secured, your trip is guaranteed! You can give us your deposit several
easy ways: over the phone, via email
or fax. We accept Visa and MasterCard. Here are the deposit fees for our
trips, per person:
When Is The Balance Payment Due?
For Adventure Trips/Tours
Once you have made a reservation with Outdoor Family, the balance payment is due
90 days prior to departure. The easiest way to pay us the balance is to
give us authorization, at the time of booking, to automatically charge
your credit card when the balance is due. If that is not possible, we
can also give you a reminder call or send you an email. You can also, of
course, do it the old-fashioned way and send us a check or money order
in U.S. dollars. If payment is not received when due, Outdoor Family reserves
the right to cancel the reservation. If you are booking your
trip within 90 days prior to departure, the entire balance must be paid
at the time of booking.
For Dude Ranch Vacations
Your balance with tax, gratuities and any additional charges (optional) is
due at check-out for most dude ranch vacations. ALL RATES QUOTED ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE.
Can I Book A Trip At The Last Minute?
No problem! We would love to help you. Please note that when you book your
vacation 45 days or less prior to departure, we will need to add a $30 priority
handling charge to your invoice.
What if I Have To Change My Reservation?
It is important to note that once you confirm your reservation with a deposit,
any changes whatsoever, including but not limited to trip dates, participant's
names or party size, will be subject to a $30 administration fee, plus any price
adjustments that may have been incurred.
What Is Outdoor Family's Cancellation Policy?
Each adventure trip, dude ranch or wilderness resort has their own set of rules
regarding canceling a trip. Policies and penalties will be covered both verbally
and in writing at time of booking. We strongly recommend purchase of trip
cancellation insurance that will be sent with your pre-departure packet.
Do Prices and Itineraries Change?
All rates listed on this site are quoted per person in U.S. Dollars and unless
noted, based on double occupancy. International trip prices are based on current
average exchange rates and operator pricing at time of printing. All fares,
rates and prices quoted are subject to change without notice. And as always,
trip schedules and itineraries are subject to change due to weather, water and
trail conditions and other forces of nature. We do hope you recognize these
possible predicaments and we appreciate your understanding.
What Does The Trip Price Include?
You'll find that Outdoor Family includes as much as possible in the trip price so
that you are not faced with extra costs. Most meals are included in the price
unless otherwise noted. Special diets are rarely problem - just let us know in
advance. We would be happy to accommodate you. Pricing is based on double
occupancy in lodges and inns and double and/or single tent accommodations on
camping trips. Single lodging accommodations are often available for an
additional charge. On camping trips, most amenities are provided, except a
sleeping bag. Once you book your trip with us, packing and information details
will be sent along with your pre-departure packet explaining the items provided
and what you can expect on your trip.
Does Outdoor Famliy Offer Special Youth Rates?
Yes! You'll find that Outdoor Famliy is a very child-friendly site and many of our
trips, resorts, ranches and lodges have special rates for children to make Family
traveling more affordable.
Are Private Rooms Available For People Traveling Alone?
Yes! If you are traveling alone, you can request a private room. More often than
not they are available on our tours for an extra charge.
Do I Have To Be In Good Physical Condition To Take An Adventure Travel Trip?
Prior experience, with the exception of dive programs, is rarely a prerequisite
for taking an adventure trip with Outdoor Famliy. However, we do require that
participants be in good health and physical condition. We recommend a suitable
program of exercise and fitness prior to your outing to help condition and
loosen inactive muscles. While on your trip the outfitter will give you all the
instruction and guidance you need to get by safely and comfortably. Please be
advised that minimum age limits do exist on most trips. With the exception of
teen-only adventures, all children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an
adult. Youth and senior discounts are available on many of our scheduled
adventures.
Is Roundtrip Airfare Included In The Trip Price?
For most U.S. based trips airfare is not included in the trip price. Please
check the trip facts on the website for details. Further, each operator has an
individual policy of transfers -- sometimes they are included in the price of
the tour and other times they are not. But we want to make sure you get to your
adventure travel trip - and back home again - with as least effort as possible.
In most cases, we can arrange for your airfare, car rental and hotel reservation
needs. Just ask!
Does Outdoor Family Offer Travel Insurance?
Outdoor Family highly recommends travel insurance for all trips. Accordingly
travel insurance will be included on your trip invoice. This insurance is for
your own protection and covers the just-in- case situations that could occur
anywhere or anytime you travel. Insurance coverage includes trip cancellation,
baggage loss, trip delay and medical evacuation. You will receive detailed
information regarding coverage with your pre-departure package.
What Documents Are Required For International Travel?
International travel requires a passport, except for Canada and Mexico, where a
driver's license or U.S. birth certificate is sufficient. Visa information
varies by country and Outdoor Family will let you know about required documentation.
Your pre-departure packet will also include this information. Travelers from
countries outside the United States should contact the desired destination's
consulate to determine what documentation is required.
How Do I Plan A Group Trip?

you plan and design the best group trip to suit your needs.
